Alan Jackson is a traditional country singer that has made a career out of his family values and easy-listening style. Releasing his 15th album, Good Time, Jackson has once again teamed up with Producer Keith Stegall to produce a stellar album.

The first single Small Town Southern Man skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard Hot Country songs and the second single Good Time is currently on its way to that same position. One of the aspects of Jackson that suck his fans in is that he stays true to his music, his
fans, and himself.

After almost two decades in the industry, you might think that somewhere along the line Jackson may have strained close to the mainstream-country pop, but that couldn’t be further than the truth.

Jackson isn’t known as a prolific songwriter, but on Good Time, he penned all 17 tracks. It could almost be considered a double-album in that aspect, as it’s considerably rare for country artists to churn out 17 tracks on one album.
With over 70 minutes of music on this album, it’s a relaxing and enjoyable album that shows why Jackson is such a HUGE name. The album is packed with everything you could want in a country album. There are the songs about heartbreak and reconciliation, technology (In the catchy ditty I Still Like Bologna) and lost loved ones (Sissy’s Song).

Sissy’s Song is a real tear jerker and Jackson knows it and uses every aspect of his singing talent to really draw listener’s in.
Well written, it’s predictable, but still enjoyable.Another great tune is his duet with
Martina McBride, Never Loved Before. Both singers compliment each other, and Martina brings her own special quality to the song.

Jackson has proved himself time and time again as a talented country musician, and this time is no different. For fans of Jackson, this one is definitely one to have in the collection. And, for those who have never heard Jackson before, this is definitely the album to start listening.

I give it 4/5
