Dave Mustaine is, without a doubt, the driving force behind Megadeth. After leaving Metallica, it was his desire to create a band that would rival Metallica in every form, and thus, Megadeth was born.
The primary songwriter, and now the only original member left, Mustaine is Megadeth, as much as Megadeth is Mustaine.

While Megadeth has had some hiccups in the past with albums, such as
Risk not selling as well as Countdown To Extinction, in more recent times they have returned to killer form with United Abominations.
So, it comes as no surprise that Megadeth have released Warchest, which is a result of twenty years of blood, sweat and bullets.

The sampler is probably not the best way to experience Megadeth, especially if it’s for the first time. Instead of experiencing the full force of the Warchest, the Sampler crams 16 songs together.

Having said that, it is still a joy to listen, and gives fans a sample of the delights that can be expected if they purchase the Warchest.

In chronological order, this sampler starts with
“Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good” and my personal favorite, “Peace Sells” and ends with “Kick The Chair” and a live performance of “Holy Wars”.

Fans get to experience the band as they change and develop into one of the best Metal bands in the world.
But that’s not what is so appealing about the Warchest. To most fans, it may come across as just another Greatest Hits album churned out by the band and their former record label. Don’t be fooled, it’s not.
While it does have many of Megadeth’s career defining album cuts, it also has unreleased live and studio performances, interviews and demos.

The sampler allows us a chance to peek into the Warchest with a demo of “Tornado Of Souls” and unreleased live performances of “Ashes In Your Mouth” and “Skin O’ My Teeth”Digitally remastered, the Sampler allows us to see the genius that is Mustaine at his grittiest best.
A must-have for all Megadeth fans.
I give it HHHH
